Cookies + Dough = A Smiling Match Made in Heaven

MMMMMMmmmmm ... my mouth is in heaven after tasting my latest review.  Have I mentioned how much fun this blog can be? Or yummy?

I just had a chance to try THE most delectable treat, found locally at the Smiling Spatula Bakeshop Marisa Zeibert, chief treat creator at Smiling Spatula, has quite the resume to back up her baked goods, beginning with a B aking and Pastry degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Marisa has also worked in various roles in the culinary world, including food writing, food styling, account management and recipe testing. Earlier this year, she mixed her creative cooking talents to create a bake shop that prides itself on good old fashioned quality ingredients.
Her current delights offered include cookies, brownies, cookie cakes, biscotti and more - but we're not just talking basic biscotti.  I had a chance to try her Peanut Butter-n-Jelly bars, the Fudge Brownies, and (hands down, the yummiest of yummiest) the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sandwiches. Just as it sounds - this to-die-for treat is chocolate chip cookie dough collocated between chocolate chip cookies. OH my gosh you have no idea how amazing these are. Marisa warned me that I would not be able to eat a whole sandwich in one sitting, and she was right. I dared my husband to do it, who (surprisingly) successfully conquered it. But for me, a little bit at a time was complete heaven. They were so good, that after we all tried everything the first day, I hid the rest from my kids.

The brownie was deliciously soft in the center, gooey and perfect, as if it had just come out of the oven. And the peanut butter bars were also finger-licking good, with a peanut butter and streusel topping over strawberry preserves. I thought for sure my kids would rate this their fave, but the voting was unanimous: The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sandwiches were the way to go.
I'd love to try the Brownie Cookie Dough Sandwiches, the "Movie Theater" (read about this on the website and drool) or the French Toast Buddies. For your viewing and drooling pleasure, visit where you can order goodies for yourself or others (the bundles make great gifts!). Pick them up or ship them to someone who deserves a treat.
