…give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Wow. Tough one. Easier said than done.
I’ve been working on it for quite a while now. 2 years and 25 weeks to be exact.
Sometimes people still ask, “How do you do it?” At first, my answer was always “One breath at a time.” Some days, it’s still the most accurate response. Most times though, I point out we have no choice. And then I add that everyone has something to deal with, some struggle to face…
Don’t misunderstand me… I don’t interpret this verse in an exact literal way… I’m not thankful that I lost my son in a horrific manner. Or that my husband struggles regularly with anger and guilt over it. Or that our daughters have lost what remained of their childhood.
Having a grateful heart, giving praise when the worst has happened, invites light into the darkness…and He can work good wherever He’s invited…
Wishing you a day filled with abundant blessings and beautiful memories…
