Ring in the new year with Radio Disney

Radio Disney, the radio network for kids, 'tweens and families, plans to throw one of its annual family-friendly Noon Year's Eve celebrations in Charlotte this year.

The Noon Year’s Eve events on Dec. 31 will feature the best songs of the year from Radio Disney’s Top 50 of 2011, interactive entertainment and prizes. The Charlotte event also will feature special balloon drops and a countdown just for kids and families.

Head to Northlake Mall, with AM 1480, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 for Noon Year's Eve events. Additional activities in Charlotte include apple cider toast provided by presenting sponsor Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Radio Disney’s Top 50 of 2011 will air at 7 p.m. Dec. 31, featuring the most requested songs of 2011, with re-airings throughout New Year's Day. Hosted by Radio Disney on-air personalities Ernie D, Jake, Hallie, Candice, and Blake, the five-hour broadcast counting down the year will also feature interviews with listeners favorite artists like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Cody Simpson and Willow Smith.

Radio Disney is the 24-hour radio network devoted to kids, 'tweens and families. Kids help pick the music that is played and are encouraged to interact via a toll-free phone line to the Radio Disney studio. The network's current playlist, driven by listener requests and representing major record labels, includes recording artists Selena Gomez & The Scene, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Willow Smith, Cody Simpson, Katy Perry, Taio Cruz and Allstar Weekend. The network is available on 34 terrestrial radio stations and is also available via RadioDisney.com, Sirius and XM satellite radio on channel 79, iTunes Radio Tuner, mobile phones and on the Radio Disney iPhone and Android Apps.
