Target announced earlier this month it will match prices at 29 online retailers, including Wal-Mart, Amazon, Costco and CVS. Previously, Target would only match in-store deals and did not include membership-based retailers such as Costco and Sam’s Club.
How it works: Target shoppers who find a better deal for any identical item online or in a printed ad will receive the item at the lowest price. If a better price is found up to 14 days past the purchase date, Target will refund the difference at guest services.
Fine print: The item must be identical in brand name, size, weight, color, quantity and model number. And it must be in stock.
To prove the lower price, shoppers must show a printed ad or a digital copy on their smartphone.
Shoppers can use manufacturers’ coupons after they receive the lower matched price; however, Target coupons and any discounts found on Cartwheel cannot be used.
No price matches will be honored from Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving.
There is a limit of one price-matched item per guest.
Make it work for you: Download a scan app (Red Laser, ShopSavvy, Quickscan are options). Simply scan the barcode associated with the item to get the lowest price in stores or online.
