I'm So Clever

Powdered drink containers work great for storage

I use empty powdered Gatorade containers to sort and store extra nails and screws. To tell them apart without opening, I insert the corresponding screw or nail in the top of each one so it’s easy to identify the contents. It prevents having to search and keeps everything neat and in order. Sam Burch, Charlotte

Drop cloth protects grill cover

To protect my outdoor grill cover from sticky pollen, I cover the grill cover with a sheet of 9-by-12 painters’ plastic drop cloth and secure it with tape. At the end of the pollen season, I just roll it up and dispose of it. Also works for outdoor furniture. I use 2 mil plastic, but even lighter grades should work. It’s a great solution for two bucks. Vac helps prep the pool

My husband uses a wet/dry vac to siphon water gathered over the winter from our pool tarp. It makes opening up the pool a breeze. Martha & Harold Hood, Matthews
