I'm So Clever

Easy-chair basket comes in handy

I’m so clever that after I finish eating a jar of store-bought pickles, I save the leftover juice in the jar. Then I slice a fresh cucumber, add the slices to the juice and let them marinate for a couple of days in the refrigerator. That gives me a second jar of tasty, refrigerator pickles. Leslie H. Davis, Charlotte

The winner: I keep a basket near my recliner to hold items I may need while reading or watching TV, including pen, highlighter, pencil and sharpener, notepad, sticky notes, scissors, magnifier, and bookmarks. Patricia Covington, Charlotte

Clever update
