Armin Desch has opened a new venue that’s ideal for hosting parties, weddings, and other specials events. Located at the former Double Door Inn in Cornelius, The Pearl, which Desch says is named after one of his mother’s favorite pieces of jewelry, has 4,000 feet of event space, including a stage, dance floor, and DJ booth, and can accommodate up to 250 guests. Desch, who’s been in the catering business for more than 20 years, is working with executive chef Nick Apap, formerly at The Pointe Golf Club, to develop The Pearl’s menu. “Other than private country clubs, there’s no venue like it around Lake Norman,” says Desch. www.arminscatering.com
