A national conference that supports health ministries in African-American churches will be held in Charlotte in November.
And in the wake of the shootings in Charleston, the Healthy Churches 2020 Conference will add a workshop that will focus on how to take protective measures before, during and after emergencies – including gun violence, terrorism and natural disasters.
The conference, sponsored The Balm of Gilead of Richmond, Va., is scheduled for Nov. 4-6 at the Hilton Charlotte-University Place, 8629 J.M. Keynes Drive.
The conference is for pastors and others responsible for churches’ health ministry, annual health fair, kitchen ministry, nurses ministry, and all aspects of health education, promotion and compassion within the congregation and community.
