Test drive: Clarisonic Mia

I am an eternal skeptic, especially when it comes to gadgety-type beauty quick fixes or super trendy products. Instant reduction of fine lines? Pore reduction? Dulling of bright spots? Riiiight.

But my cynicism was recently quelled by one magical product, with which I am now wholly consumed: the Clarisonic Mia.

Quite simply, my face has never looked so good. Gone are the annoying blemishes that would bubble up with little prompting all over my chin. People tell me my skin is glowing (in a good way). All because of the crazy deep but gentle cleaning of the Mia.

After seeing the infrared images of a face after been cleansed by Clarisonic and by hand washing alone, it makes perfect sense that my face never felt clean enough: It wasn’t! The Clarisonic removes six times more makeup than manual washing alone.

Clarisonic says the sonic cleaning (or infusion as they call it) has many benefits including:

--Immediately hydrates, leaving skin feeling refreshed --Noticeably firmer skin after 4 weeks --Reduces appearance of fine lines and puffiness in as little as 8 weeks --Gentle for daily use --Can be layered with your own eye cream --Improves skin texture

The beautiful thing is you can use the Clarisonic with just about any facial cleanser, meaning that to use it, you needn’t adopt an entirely new skincare regiment.

Its not inexpensive ($149 for the Mia), but out of all the gear and gadgetry I’ve purchased over the years, this may just be the single best purchase, and certainly reaffirms the quality over quantity mantra I’ve been trying to abide by the past few years.
