I don’t know about you, but I am freaking out a bit about the date. How is it already almost December, as in less than a month until Dec. 25?
Time needs to slow down for just a little bit. Or I need to get more organized. Don’t hold your breath.
But, I do have my stuff together enough to suggest a few fashiony gift ideas for the fabulous folks in your life, with the added coolness of supporting local businesses. If you’re looking for more shop-local inspiration, check out Yelp Charlotte’s Shop Local Pledge.
Melvin Jewelry: Charlotte-based designer M.Clifford and Morgan Walker, you had me at bullet bracelets. And you doubly had me at Octopus necklaces and house fly earrings. Stunning, sturdy and so very chic (without breaking the bank), a piece from the Decommissioned or Untamed collection would please even the most finicky accessories fan.
Oscar de la Renta: Fashion & Design at the Mint Museum: This gorgeous coffee table book is perfect if you missed the a-mazing, ground-breaking fashion show this spring at the Mint, or if you just want to relive the fabulousness again and again. Features stunning photography as well as a forward by Laura Vinroot Poole, the South’s (and Charlotte’s) most chic fashion ambassador. $40 (plus tax). Wells-Fargo generously underwrote the book, so 100 percent of proceeds go the Mint Museum Auxiliary. Available at the Mint Museum Uptown gift shop and the Mint Museum Randolph gift shop.
Scoop Charlotte’s Holiday Gift Coupon Book: This could quite possibly be the most perfect stocking stuffer for $10. The adorable book contains coupons good for 20-30 percent off future purchases at some of Charlotte’s favorite stores: Cottage Chic, Bedside Manor, JT Posh, Coral, Poole Shop and many more.
