A Southwest taste of home

Casa Grande, Ariz., may seem off the beaten path, but the 40-minute drive south from Phoenix is worth it to eat at BeDillon's place. Located in an old neighborhood, the restaurant started out as a private home. Mr. BeDillon was a local high school teacher who turned his home into a museum and his courtyard into a cactus garden featuring species from throughout the world. Current owner Michael Jackson has incorporated family recipes into the menu, making this “the” place to eat in the entire region. Try the bacon-wrapped stuffed olive appetizer. Explore the museum and gardens while you wait on your entree. Whether you choose steak, chicken or seafood, it's done with a Southwestern flare.
