Kids will love these obstacles

A new attraction in Myrtle Beach features an obstacle course for kids.

Soar & Explore, a family-friendly attraction, features two outdoor adventures on the southwestern side of Broadway at the Beach adjacent to Tripp's restaurant. The attraction includes the Ropes Challenge Course and the Zipline Adventure.

The zip line, which debuted this month, is billed as the first in the Grand Strand. It takes riders across the complex's 23-acre Lake Broadway. Riders, who wear harnesses, make the transit 50 feet above the water.

Soar & Explore's Ropes Challenge Course, which opened Memorial Day weekend, is constructed of more than 3,000 ropes and cables and features 33 different challenges that require balance, dexterity and focus. Obstacles include swinging steps, a tremor bridge, tightrope walk and vertical angle stairs. It's an all-ages attraction geared to families.

Soar & Explore is currently open noon to 10 Sunday-Thursday, to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday; hours will vary by season. Cost: Ropes Challenge Course, $11.99 per person, plus tax; Zipline Adventure: $19.99 per person, plus tax. Combo rate (includes both: $26.99).
