Event for rock climbers
Chimney Rock towers hundreds of feet above Hickory Nut Gorge, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 9, you can climb one of its features (Vista Rock) by rope and then rappel 200 feet down it. The event, a benefit, is open to beginners and experienced climbers. Staffers from Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School will accompany participants. Savannah, Ga., famed as a good-eating town, stages its food-and-spirits festival at various locations, Nov. 11-17.
