Travelers coming through Charlotte-Douglas International Airport on Sunday said they had little to complain about, despite the fact that the holiday season is one of the busiest times for air travel.
John Hunsucker, who was returning to Charlotte from Seoul, South Korea, had planned to fly on Jan. 14, in part to avoid the holiday rush. But when his grandmother became sick, he opted to fly back early.
“It’s been pretty good,” said Hunsucker. “I can’t really complain.”
Charlotte resident Madison Jackson agreed.

It’s been smooth,” said Jackson, who was flying from Chattoonooga, Tenn. “Today’s been easy.”
Even Chicago area couple Bob Mandel and Johanna Vandorf, who had a last-minute change to their plans, said traveling was pleasant on Sunday.
The couple, who were traveling to Asheville, found out their connecting flight had been canceled. So they opted to rent a car and drive from Charlotte.
The couple will need to return the car to Charlotte before they fly back to Illinois.
Problem is, they’d already scheduled their return flight from the airport in Asheville. On Sunday, the couple was working on rearranging their flight plans.
Still, they said, it had been a fairly positive travel day.
“Everything’s been fast, and everyone’s been very nice,” said Vandorf.
