115 ‘green’ jobs bound for Charlotte area

A company that makes sustainable materials and packaging will spend $15million to build a manufacturing facility in northern Chester County, state officials said Wednesday, creating up to 115 jobs over the next five years.

Arizona-based Footprint LLC will lease a 109,000-square-foot building in the L&C Distribution Park in Richburg, about 40 miles south of Charlotte, officials said. The company will make and deliver sustainable packaging materials for the its East Coast and Canadian customers.

Among the industries that Footprint serves are consumer goods, food and beverage, produce and horticulture and product manufacturing.

The S.C. Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.
