A software company owned by Charlotte-based Falfurrias Capital Partners has made its first acquisition, part of a plan to create a company that can offer mid-tier banks a broader array of technology products and services.
Texas-based Marquis Software Solutions, which provides marketing analytics software, plans to announce Thursday that it is buying Utah-based DocuMatix, which provides software for marketing campaigns through emails, texts and surveys. Terms are not being disclosed.
Falfurrias is a private equity firm co-founded by former Bank of America CEO Hugh McColl Jr. and former Bank of America chief financial officer Marc Oken. In September, it acquired Marquis and installed former Bank of America executive Susan Faulkner as CEO.
“Our customers are telling us they want to purchase software and services from fewer vendors offering a broader set of solutions,” Faulkner said in a statement. “Combining the deep industry expertise, analytics and professional services of Marquis and the marketing automation solutions of DocuMatix will allow us to better meet their needs.”
Oken said in a statement that he expects Marquis to continue growing on its own and through acquisitions. DocuMatix will continue to operate from Utah and keep data centers in Utah and Nevada. Faulkner will lead the combined company.
