The Kimpton Tryon Park, uptown’s newest luxury hotel, is opening its doors Nov. 1.
The 18-story building is the first Kimpton hotel in Charlotte, located across from Romare Bearden Park on South Church Street. It’s part of the same development as the new 300 South Tryon office tower, a 25-story building where crews are working on the final touches.
Plans for a second Kimpton Hotel in Dilworth fell through this year, after the site’s owners decided not to go ahead with the plan.
Kimpton Tryon Park totals 217 rooms, including a 1,300 square-foot presidential suite. There’s a 2,000 square-foot event space on the rooftop with a retractable covering, as well as Merchant & Trade, a rooftop lounge and restaurant.
Amenities include bicycle rentals, in-room yoga mats, pet-friendly rooms, a fourth-floor gym with an outdoor yoga deck and a nightly social hour for guests.
“Kimpton Tryon Park will deliver the unique design, unrivaled service and top-flight amenities our company is known for, but with a distinct local flavor,” said Robert Hannigan, general manager of Kimpton Tryon Park, in a statement. “We look forward to opening our doors and sharing Kimpton’s heartfelt hospitality with our guests in Charlotte.”
Uptown Charlotte is seeing a major boom in new luxury hotel construction, with about 1,000 new rooms – a 20 percent increase – set to open in a 12-month span.
