A new, boutique apartment building is leasing now in south Charlotte, with high-end finishes and a quieter setting that’s meant to appeal to older renters.
Called Tindall Park, workers are putting the finishing touches on the new apartments at the triangular corner of Park and Sharon roads. A two-bed, two-bathroom apartment, roughly 1,500 square-feet, starts at $2,850, while the largest three-bedroom, a 2,200 square foot model, starts at $5,000 a month.
Developed by My Niche Apartments, the 37-apartment property is designed to appeal to older renters, such as empty-nest Baby Boomers who want to downsize from larger houses but aren’t ready to move into an age-restricted, retirement community. The idea is that they’ll be attracted to a rental property that offers high-quality finishes and is maintenance-free for the occupants.
The developers paid $2.2 million for the site in 2015, real estate records show.

Design elements inside the apartments include full dining rooms, 10-foot ceilings, “chef’s kitchen” with a wet bar and gas ranges, foyers, free-standing bathtubs and walk-in showers. Amenities for residents include a gym, warming kitchen for catered events, a lounge and outdoor terrace, a clubroom, covered parking and elevators.
