Charlotte will soon have a new route to an Arizona city, when American Airlines launches a nonstop, daily flight in February.
The company plans to start the flight on Feb. 15, and tickets go on sale this weekend. The company operates its second-busiest hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and the Tucson redeye flight will be geared to business travelers seeking early arrival times to connect to other flights in Charlotte.
The flight will be operated on an Airbus A320, which seats 150 passengers. The plane will depart from Tucson at 12:30 a.m. and arrive in Charlotte at 6:18 a.m. The flight from Charlotte will depart at 7:30 a.m. and arrive in Tucson just after 10 a.m.
“As the largest carrier in Tucson, Ariz., American looks forward to strengthening our position for business travelers by providing the redeye flight featuring early arrival and connection time in CLT,” an American Airlines spokesperson said in a statement.
