It’s finally here. Starting today in Charlotte, anyone with an iPhone (sorry, Android users, but your time will come sometime this year) and the Starbucks mobile app can order their favorite drinks right from their phone.
Mobile ordering was already offered in the Pacific Northwest, but this launch spreads mobile ordering to 21 states, including the Carolinas, and roughly 3,400 additional locations, according to a Starbucks news release. When you place an order, the closest Starbucks with mobile ordering will be automatically selected, but a map will show you all locations near you.
Are you a picky coffee drinker? You can customize your drinks just like you would in the store. In a hurry? Wait times will show up when you go to order, and the app will give you directions if needed.
Tip: If you aren’t able to see the option to order on the main menu of the app, turn your location services on for Starbucks. The button should appear.
A quick test shows five uptown Charlotte Starbucks, including the ones near Trade and Tryon and in the Duke Energy Center, are offering the mobile ordering.
For those who can’t leave the office for a coffee fix, Postmates will deliver Starbucks to you. Delivery starts at $5 and increase based on distance and price of your items.
