Visa Small-Business Chip Education Tour:

Join Visa on its 20-city education tour for small-business owners to discuss the transition to EMV chip technology in payment cards. Crisis Communications:

The Faith Communicators networking group starts a new season at 10 a.m. in the Cornwell Center at Myers Park Baptist Church, 2001 Selwyn Ave. In the wake of the Charleston shootings, Liz Chandler and David Coburn of Luquire George Andrews explore how houses of worship and nonprofits can handle communications in a crisis or other unexpected event. Free. Open to all who work in communications, social media, graphic design, development and administration for houses of worship and nonprofits. Light breakfast served. No registration required. Northeastern University Charlotte Campus Open House:

Northeastern University Charlotte will host a Graduate Degree Open House at the uptown campus on Saturday, August 29 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. In addition to showcasing the 35 degree and certificate programs available, Northeastern students, faculty and alumni will be on hand to answer any questions about pursuing a graduate degree. Workshop includes an overview of contract cost and pricing rules and regulations for companies engaged in federal contracting. Discussion topics include: Uniform Contract Form; Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) and other regulations; contract cost principles for small business; and cost analysis vs. price analysis.
