Eric Mower + Associates will combine next month with the Boston-based HB Agency, the companies announced Wednesday, creating a marketing and public relations partnership that will operate under the Mower name.
Mower’s office in Charlotte, with 36 employees, will continue as before, said Matt Ferguson, Charlotte managing partner. “We don’t anticipate any layoffs in any of our offices as a result of this,” he said.
Ferguson, who worked for Charlotte-based Price McNabb when it merged with Mower in 2004, said the new combination will broaden the company’s stable of creative talent and help it pitch work to larger potential clients.
It also gives the company a strong foothold in New England. Mower’s other offices are in Atlanta, Cincinnati, New York City and upstate in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse.

Mower and HB already have synergy in clean energy accounts. HB brings such clients as the New England Clean Energy Council, Ferguson said.
In the Carolinas, Mower represents such clients as Freightliner, Domtar Paper Co. of Fort Mill, Chiquita and Nucor.
