In a Friday morning news conference about the shooting deaths of five officers, Dallas Police Chief David Brown said officers don't feel supported by the community most days. He encouraged anyone listening to not make Friday "most days."
One restaurant chain took his words to heart. Sticky Fingers Ribhouse is offering police officers across the south a free meal Friday.
“Be in uniform, show a badge, and eat for free today as a way to say thank you for all you do,” a news release states.
In a post on Facebook, the restaurant said they wanted to thank and support officers. "Thank you for serving and protecting us. Our thoughts are with the fallen officers in Dallas."
Sticky Fingers is located in South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina. The North Carolina location is in Concord on Concord Mills Boulevard.
