AT&T has named a new executive to manage mobility and consumer markets in North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

Betsy Francis, who lives in Charlotte, will oversee the sales and operations of more than 85 retail locations, which combined employ over 1,000 people. She was previously the area vice president of AT&T Ohio, where she led the company’s hyper-local competitive initiatives.

“With her experience in nearly every aspect of the business, from network operations to retail management, she’s a natural choice to lead our operations in the Mid-Atlantic,” said Kent Mathy, regional president of AT&T’s Southeast Mobility Market.

Prior to working at AT&T Ohio she led product marketing, advertising and sales for AT&T Digital Life, the company’s home security and automation solution.

Francis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine arts and communications from James Madison University.
