Is your small business taking steps to address the new federal overtime regulations? We’d like to talk to you for a story.
The regulations would double to $913 a week from $455 the threshold under which salaried workers must be paid overtime, according to the Associated Press. In terms of annual pay, the threshold rises to $47,476 from $23,660. The rules take effect Dec. 1.
To prepare for the changes, some businesses around the country have been cutting worker’s hours, some intend to increase salaries of those close to the threshold and others are considering converting salaried employees to hourly workers.
