Attorney Stephen Romeo of McGrath & Spielberger, PLLC presented to the Mecklenburg County Bar Lawyers’ Luncheon Series. Romeo served with the U.S. Army as a JAG Officer in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2013 and spoke about his experiences practicing law in a war zone.

Chelsea Sacks joined the Charlotte office of design firm, LS3P, as an intern architect. Debra Wysocki joined the firm as an interior designer.

Tom Worth III was named partner at Defender Capital, a wealth management firm located in Charlotte’s South End.

Showcase Realty, owned by broker-in-charge Nancy Braun, was selected by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and Fortune for the 2014 Inner City 100, a list of the fastest-growing inner city businesses in the U.S. Showcase Realty ranked 9th in the professional services industry category and 57th overall.

Jeffrey Haney, president and partner of ECM Solutions in Charlotte, was been named 2014 Agent of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina.

Hibbett Sporting Goods, the national sporting goods retailer based in Birmingham, Ala., has executed a lease for a new store in Charlotte. Hibbett Sports plans to open the new location this winter at Eastway Square. The store anticipates employing eight full- and part-time team members.

LeChase Construction Services has relocated its Charlotte office to 5950 Fairview Road, suite 200.

Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson attorney Blaine Sanders was recognized as a “Local Litigation Star” in Benchmark Litigation, a reference guide that identifies the top litigation firms and attorneys.
