Sealed Air Corp. said it will build a new headquarters complex in southwest Charlotte near the city’s airport, part of the company’s plan to relocated 1,300 jobs from New Jersey.
The company said in a news release that it has hired Childress Klein as its development partner and architecture firm HOK as for design and engineering. The new campus will consist of three buildings and should be finished by the end of 2016, Sealed Air said.
“We are confident that the site Sealed Air has selected for its new global headquarters will allow us to fully execute our vision of constructing a unique, technologically advanced facility that flows in harmony with its natural surroundings” said Sealed Air CEO Jerome A. Peribere, in a statement. The company has been leasing temporary office space as it gets undway with the move.
Lake Point Corporate Center is on West Tyvola Road, near the intersection with Billy Graham Parkway. The office park was previously the home of Lash Group, a financial services firm that announced last year it plans to move its headquarters to Fort Mill, S.C. Lash Group, which employs about 1,200 workers in Charlotte, plans to complete its new headquarters off Interstate 77 by spring 2016.
