Carolinas HealthCare System has asked the S.C. Administrative Law Court to delay issuing a certificate of need for Piedmont Medical Center to build a Fort Mill hospital.
Carolinas HealthCare System, parent company of Carolinas Medical Center, says the appeals process should be concluded before the certificate is awarded. On Jan. 14, Carolinas HealthCare appealed Administrative Law Judge Phillip Lenski’s decision to give the certificate to PMC.
Carolinas HealthCare and PMC have battled for nearly 10 years for the right build a hospital in the Fort Mill area.
