A California-based lighting, entertainment and production company has purchased an industrial building near Charlotte Douglas International Airport, real estate brokers said Monday.
Located at 2719 Westport Road, the 25,000 square foot building and 2.1 acres of land sold for just over $1 million. Lester OsbornScott Hensley of Piedmont Properties/CORFAC International represented the buyer, Blue Haze Entertainment, while Clifford Blanquicet Jr. of Blanq Real Estate represented the seller, Jie Wu.
“New and expanding companies looking at Charlotte are finding it difficult to locate good, functional facilities,” said Osborn. “The Westport Road facility they purchased was built in 1977 and we believe the existing orange shag carpet and wood paneling may be original. In some ways, we think the partners were attracted to the property because of the challenge of converting an outdated building into something special.”
Blue Haze is based in Huntington Beach, Calif., and provides full-service lighting design and entertainment production, as well as selling lighting products.
