Kenilworth Avenue is about to get another shot of density, with a planned eight-unit condo development at Pierce Street.
A rezoning petition filed last week by Selwyn Property Group Investments for the 0.4-acre parcel shows the two houses now on the site would be replaced by eight attached condominium units. The buildings would be a maximum of three stories and have two parking spaces each in front of them. Access would be from a driveway off Pierce Street.
The rezoning is set for a hearing July 20 in front of Charlotte City Council. That whole stretch of Kenilworth is densifying (I’m sticking with that word). Two blocks away, next to the Harris Teeter, a similar plan on another 0.4-acre tract would add nine townhouses at Kenilworth and Fillmore avenues. And at Scott and Fillmore avenues, a developer is seeking to add 24 attached houses on a third tract.
