A block of existing apartments on East 36th Street in NoDa could be developed into a new, larger 51-unit apartment complex, according to a rezoning petition filed this week.
The rezoning plans call for replacing five existing buildings on the site with two larger buildings, a maximum of three stories. The current buildings have 27 units, while the new buildings would total 51 units, nearly doubling the density on the site.
The 1.4-acre site at 36th and Holt streets is owned by Beatty Investments. Deborah Beatty referred questions to her son Gary Boger, who could not immediately be reached.
