The city of Charlotte is collecting bids for a parcel at 1215 South Blvd. that currently houses an old fire station, an official told me this week.
“We are receiving many interested parties,” said Tony Korolos, manager of the city’s real estate division. The half-acre parcel sits next to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, in a section of South End that’s been transformed by the apartment-building boom in recent years.
The deadline for bids is later this week. Korolos said the city will then take the highest bid to Charlotte City Council, which must vote on the deal.
The land is appraised at just over $1.6 million, Korolos said.
