If you’ve been frustrated by a detour around Brevard Street lately, rejoice: The road is open again after months of construction for First Ward Park.

Charlotte-based Levine Properties, which is developing the park, reopened Brevard Street on Friday afternoon. The street gives people to drive or walk by and see progress being made on the park, which is supposed to open later this year.

Colleen Brannan, spokeswoman for Levine Properties, said the company hopes to reopen 9th Street next, in six to eight weeks.

Levine Properties is also building an apartment complex and two Hilton-flagged hotels in First Ward.
