Uptown’s first new condominium tower since the recession appears to be moving forward, with a new website and a gathering planned this month at the project’s sales center.
1Brevard is slated for a surface parking lot at Fourth and Brevard streets. RTG Holdings, a Boston-based development company, said in May that it was exploring a 28-story condo development at the site. That would be a big boost for condo development, which has been stagnant since the recession as developers turn to the rental market and build apartment complexes.
Here’s the project’s description from 1Brevard’s website: “It’s the condominium tower coming to Fourth & Brevard in Uptown Charlotte. The one brilliantly designed, with perfectly curated amenities. Your chance to live one with the city.”
Last week, those who signed up for information and alerts about the condo development received an invitation to an event on July 21 at the 1Brevard sales center at Fifth and Brevard streets. The invite – which now lists the project as a 30-story tower – offers the chance to “Be the first to toast 1Brevard.”
