A former Kmart store on Sardis Road North has been sold to an investment group that plans to redevelop the building into an office or call center.
New York-based DRA Advisors and Florida-based Main Street Capital Partners teamed up to buy the building for $2.8 million. The sale of the 160,000-square-foot building in the Crown Point center closed last week, real estate records show. The building is on a 21.5 acre parcel off East Independence Boulevard.
“Mainstreet Capital Partners and DRA Advisors believe this investment represents an excellent opportunity to repurpose the vacant building,” said Peter Tonon of Mainstreet Capital, in a statement. “We are constructing new exterior and interior finishes to deliver fresh, contemporary office space with maximum parking capacity and flexibility for large, high-density users.”
Charley Leavitt of JLL is handling leasing for the new space. Keely Simerville of MPV Properties represented the seller, while Brad Grow of Colliers International represented the buyers.
