A development company is planning to expand an apartment complex on North Wendover Road, according to plans filed with the city.

Beauxwright, a real estate operator and developer specializing in infill development, recently filed a rezoning request for 2.5 acres on North Wendover Road near Randolph Road. The land is currently vacant, and zoned for single-family houses.

Beauxwright is requesting the ability to construct up to 55 apartment units in several three-story buildings. The site is adjacent to the Pines at North Wendover, and site plans show the three new apartment buildings connecting to the existing complex.

A Beauxwright executive didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking more information. The plans are set for a rezoning hearing in front of Charlotte City Council on Oct. 19.
