John “Johno” Harris III has been named president of Lincoln Harris, succeeding his father, prominent Charlotte developer Johnny Harris.
Johnny Harris will continue as CEO of the development company, and will also assume the chairman post. Johno Harris has been chief operating officer of Lincoln Harris for three years.
“I look forward to building on the strong foundation Lincoln Harris has established during its 20-year history,” said Johno Harris, in a statement. “I’m fortunate to have this opportunity, especially at a time with so many exciting growth opportunities for our company.”
Johnny Harris said the firm is aiming to expand its reach.
“Johno’s promotion reflects our commitment to become an even stronger, more prominent national real estate firm,” he said. “I’m proud of where Lincoln Harris stands today and excited about our prospects for the future. We have the right team and resources in place and I strongly believe our best successes lie ahead.”
The company has several high-profile projects underway in Charlotte. Lincoln Harris is building two office towers in SouthPark, and is under contract to purchase the Charlotte Observer’s 9.4-acre uptown property. That deal is scheduled to close by the end of October.
