Texas-based home builder David Weekley Homes is planning a gated subdivision in Ballantyne that would have up to 95 units, according to a rezoning request filed recently with the city.
The development, at the intersection of North Community House Road and Briarwick Lane, would cover 15.2 acres. Early site plans show 68 townhouses and 27 single-family houses on the tract.
The tract is largely undeveloped, except for several houses. The land is surrounded by single-family houses.
A rezoning hearing before Charlotte City Council is scheduled for December 14.
David Weekley Homes is active throughout the Charlotte region, with homes planned or underway in the Waverly development on Providence Road, in SouthPark, South End, Weddington and Fort Mill.
