A two-block stretch of Kenilworth Avenue is getting denser, with two infill developments set to bring more townhouses to Dilworth.
Both are being built on lots about 0.4 acres large on Kenilworth near East Boulevard, with one adjacent to the Kenilworth Commons shopping center and one at Kenilworth and Pierce. Both developments are being advertised now to potential buyers by touting their proximity to uptown and Dilworth amenities, and neither has broken ground yet.
Here are the details so far on each:
▪ 1500 Kenilworth: Selwyn Property group is planning this development at Kenilworth and Pierce. The 8-unit project is currently pre-registering interested buyers. The lot is currently occupied by two houses.

Units are planned to be three stories, with vehicular access on an internal alleyway off of Pierce Street behind the project. Check out the rendering at the top of the page.
▪ Dilworth Towns: Meeting Street Homes is building eight townhouses at 1622 Kenilworth Avenue, on land that’s currently vacant. Prices for the three-story townhouses are starting in the $400,000s. The units are planned to laid out perpendicular to Kenilworth Avenue, with entrances facing south towards the shopping center and garage doors and vehicular access facing north.
So, what’s your opinion on these two new developments? Are you a fan of more density in the neighborhood, or do you worry about traffic? I’ve heard from folks on both sides. Let me know what you think.
