A major apartment development is in the works in northeast Charlotte near the recently completed Interstate 485 loop, according to rezoning documents filed with the city of Charlotte.
The plan calls for up to 228 multifamily units in several buildings spread over 20.6 acres on Salome Church Road, near I-485 and North Tryon Street. The site is currently vacant, and the buildings would be up to three stories high.
As part of the plan, the developers would give Mecklenburg County a portion of the site’s required storm water buffer next to Stoney Creek to use for a greenway.
Records show BRC Salome Church Road LLC, the corporate entity behind the rezoning request, is affiliated with Blue Ridge Companies, a High Point-based apartment development and management company.
