A developer is planning to build 85 townhouses in Seversville, just west of uptown, according to a rezoning request filed with the city of Charlotte.

Hopper Communities is behind the project, located on a 4.6-acre site is at Wesley Heights Way and Duckworth Avenue. According to the rezoning documents, the units would be capped at 50 feet tall, and would be built facing an internal network of residential alleys.

The site is owned by New Bethel Church Ministries, located on Little Road Road. The land is currently vacant – a church that sat on it has been demolished. Charlotte City Council is scheduled to hold a hearing on the plans on Feb. 15.

Charlotte-based Hopper is also building a 53-unit townhouse project in South End, called SouthPoint.
