The new apartments sitting atop the Mint Museum Uptown’s building will start pre-leasing in September, developer Childress Klein said Monday.
The 43-story tower, under construction by general contractor Batson-Cook, is on track to open in late 2016 or early 2017, Childress Klein said in a construction update. The company didn’t say how much the units will lease for. At Element Uptown, another apartment tower by Childress Klein nearby, a 625-square-foot studio starts at $1,480 a month.
Lincoln Property Co., which manages 35,000 apartment units throughout the Southeast, will manage the new apartments.
Childress Klein said the final concrete pour on the structure’s rooftop deck will be finished in April, and the covered walkway over the Levine Avenue of the Arts is scheduled to be removed in July.
Workers are continuing to build the interior and exterior simultaneously. The exterior framing and glass is complete up to the 40th floor, while interior framing is complete up to the 37th. Workers have finished electrical and plumbing systems up to the 26th floor, interior Sheetrock up to the 22nd, cabinets up to the 20th. Countertops and doors are complete up to the 19th floor.
