The amenity deck is open at SkyHouse, a pair of luxury apartments uptown, featuring the equivalent of a small park atop the development’s parking deck.
Called SkyPark, the new amenity deck is a little over 1 acre and emblematic of the high-end touches that have defined this most recent round of apartment construction in Charlotte. Six stories up, SkyPark features a tennis court, athletic field, two bocce ball courts, grilling areas and fire pits, a putting green, walking trail, dog walking area and dog washing station.
“We are focused on delivering a true in-town residential experience for the people choosing to make SkyHouse their home,” said Jim Borders, CEO of Novare Group, co-developer of the site. “Parks are critical to our ongoing health and wellness for everything from exercise to peace of mind. SkyPark gives our residents the opportunity to enjoy a park experience an elevator ride away and also have something interesting to look at for homes on the park side of the buildings.”

A veterinarian called VetweRx is also now open in the ground floor of the building.
Construction is underway on the second SkyHouse tower, also developed by Novare, Batson-Cook Development and Grubb Properties. That building, basically identical to the first 24-story SkyHouse tower on North Church Street, is expected to open adjacent to the parking deck in early 2017.
When complete, the pair of 336-unit buildings will total 672 units, and are expected to bring about 1,000 new residents to an area of uptown that has been lagging the southern side of uptown’s explosive growth in recent years.
