New Belgium’s tasting room at their new Asheville brewery opened to the public this week, and the Charlotte office of a major architecture firm designed the facility.

Perkins+Will, whose local office is based at the Charlotte Chamber building on South Tryon Street uptown, has a brewery design practice in North Carolina called Perkins+Will NC Craft. You can follow them on Twitter @WeHelpUBrew.

Perkins+Will handled architecture and design for New Belgium’s Liquid Center, a tasting room. The brewery is starting public tours of their whole Asheville facility this summer, and is planning a party to mark their opening Aug. 27.

The tasting room is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-8 p.m. Sunday. So, if you need another reason to drive to Asheville, you can go to admire the Charlotte architecture and design while sipping a cold beer.
