Construction is underway on a new, boutique condominium development in Myers Park: 2312 Selwyn.

Davidson-based father-son team Ron and Chris Kennerly are behind the development, which will include eight units in a four-story building. Demolition of the existing buildings on the site at the corner of Selwyn Avenue and Croydon Road wrapped up last week, and construction is now fully funded and underway.

The Kennerlys have developed lakefront condos on Lake Norman for 25 years, totaling 1,100 units. This is their first venture into Charlotte – and it happens to be two blocks from where Ron Kennerly grew up.

The 2312 Selwyn development is being funded through a combination of pre-sales, equity and development financing. F & M Bank of Salisbury is providing the development financing. HM Properties is listing units for sale, and Steven Cuff Construction is the general contractor. Tony Miller of Miller Architecture is the lead architect on the project.

Completion is planned for the first quarter of 2017. List prices range from $1,050,000 to $1,450,000, and the condos will include finishes such as 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, stone countertops, gas fireplaces and high-end appliances. Several units are under contract, the Kennerlys said. The four-story building will feature two units on each floor, and the building will be on top of a floor of secure parking, with two spaces per unit.
