Development in Steele Creek
Another townhouse development is on the drawing board in Steele Creek, this one with up to 127 new residences.
Builder BNA Homes filed a rezoning request recently for 15.9 acres on South Tryon Street, just south of Shopton Road. That’s across from Adare, a townhouse development by BNA Homes where a two-bedroom starts at $146,900. The site is currently mostly vacant and wooded, with a few houses.
According to the rezoning documents, the development would include a pool and amenity area, with access to a network of private streets from Tryon and Culloden More Court. The townhouses would be two stories.
A BNA Homes executive couldn’t immediately be reached for more information. Charlotte City Council will hold a hearing on the rezoning plan in the next several months and vote on the proposal.
The proposed development is the latest in a string of new residential projects planned or underway in Steele Creek.
Pulte Homes is planning to build up to 550 townhouses and 292 apartments at Brown-Grier and Steele Creek roads, while a 271-unit apartment development is already under construction down the street at Brown-Grier and Sandy Porter roads. A 120-room hotel was also announced last week at Dixie River Road and Trojan Drive.
BNA has also developed townhouses in the University City area and Mooresville.
