The grocery delivery service Shipt now delivers from Harris Teeter to homes throughout Charlotte.

Shipt first partnered with Harris Teeter last year in the Research Triangle, the startup said this week. Shipt launched its service in Publix stores throughout Charlotte last September.

Shipt has a mobile and desktop app that lets customers browse a full selection of groceries at local Harris Teeter stores. Users then can select a one-hour delivery window, and the Ship shopper hand picks and delivers the items as soon as one hour after the order, Shipt said this week.

The cost of the service is $99 a year for orders of at least $35. Shipt said to celebrate the partnership with Harris Teeter, it will offer $25 in free groceries to annual members who sign up before service launches in their area.

Shipt will deliver from more than 50 Harris Teeter stores throughout the Charlotte area. The coverage area includes Concord, Mooresville, Cornelius, Mint Hill, Waxhaw, Lake Wylie, Stanley, Denver, Huntersville, Indian Trail, Matthews, Weddington, Fort Mill and Rock Hill.

“One thing is very clear in the Charlotte region – people love Harris Teeter,” said Shipt founder and CEO Bill Smith. “We look forward to deepening our relationship with Harris Teeter, and expanding the number of stores we shop throughout Charlotte.”

Shipt is currently hiring. Those interested can visit the website.

Harris Teeter, based in Matthews, was bought by Kroger in 2014.
