Fresh Market opens its newest grocery store in south Charlotte Wednesday at 8.a.m.
The grand opening at the market in the Promenade on Providence shopping center will begin with a Cracking of the Parmesan, a “gourmet version of the traditional ribbon-cutting event,” Fresh Market said in a statement. Following that will be chef demonstrations and food sampling that will continue throughout the day and through Saturday.
The first 1,000 customers at the opening event will receive a free sample-sized bag of Fresh Market coffee and a free reusable shopping bag. Shoppers can also enter drawings to win $100 Fresh Market gift cards. Five drawings will be held for customers who register between March 4 and March 8.
The 27,000-square-foot store has a revamped layout that includes a gelato bar and coffee bar, staffed to make espressos and frappuccinos, as well as an in-store dining area. Among other features, it also has a bakery, an organic produce department and a meat counter that offers ready-to-serve meals.
