A new southwestern restaurant is coming to southwest Charlotte.

Sol Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar breaks ground Friday midday in front of Charlotte Premium Outlets, according to Albert Thomas, a manager Sageworth Properties, the project’s developer.

The family-friendly restaurant will have indoor and outdoor dining areas. Its menu includes house-made southwest-inspired items like shrimp and spinach enchiladas, a chipotle chicken quesadilla and green chile chicken nachos. Sol also has a brunch and full bar menu.

This will be Sol’s first North Carolina location. The restaurant has three South Carolina locations in Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Summerville, according to its website.

Adams Associates Architects is the architect on the project.

Charlotte Premium Outlets, the 400,000 square-foot shopping center located off Interstate 485 in Steele Creek, opened in summer 2014.
