Blaze Pizza is opening another location in Charlotte.

The 2,500 square-foot pizzeria will be at 8948 JM Keynes Dr., right off North Tryon, according to a statement from Blaze on Wednesday. The restaurant will have indoor seating for 55 and a patio that will seat 22.

Blaze specializes in dough made from scratch, 11-inch wood-fired pizzas made in three minutes and a customizable menu of thin-crust pies. The new location near UNC Charlotte will also feature a selection of wine and local draft beer, Blaze said.

California-based Blaze Pizza opened its first Charlotte location last year in the Camden Gallery in South End. The new UNC Charlotte location will be owned and operated by Carolinas Restaurant Holdings.

Blaze Pizza is backed by celebrities including LeBron James and Maria Shriver. The company has said it plans to open several more locations in North Carolina over the next few years.

Charlotte’s experienced major growth in chain pizza chains recently throughout the city, including Firenza near Northlake Mall, Uncle Maddio’s in midtown, Pieology in the EpiCentre and Toppers Pizza in Ballantyne and Fort Mill.
